Hi, I’m Craig.
My wife (“H”) and I met in our early 20’s while in college. We worked together at a coffee shop in San Diego and at first she didn’t like my coffee.
My charm slowly eroded her defenses and we became great pals and eventually started dating. On our first date, she complained to me that she would “never find someone who will follow me around the world.” Without hesitation I told her that “I would.”
After we married, we applied for and served as Peace Corps volunteers in Benin, West Africa. We then traveled in SE Asia for 5 months before returning back to San Diego and eventually, Washington DC, where we secured Federal employment, bought a house, created two beautiful roommates (“S” and “D”), and have two goofy dogs.
One of our early career goals was for one of us to get into the Foreign Service and H was able to manage to do just that with USAID.
These are my dispatches from a life abroad.
